Sex and the City and Entourage are just two of the many television shows that have made the leap to the big screen. Could Friends one day follow that same path? Well, according to Lisa Kudrow, it is not very likely.
“It’s been 13 years, 13 years of the same question” Kudrow said while speaking to Heat Magazine. “Right now, or in the future, it’s not going to happen and every time I say that, I get yelled at.”
While it may be a lot of fun, Kudrow said from a logistical purpose, a movie adaptation of the series would “never work.” “It would never work because everyone is on a totally, ridiculous work schedule, that’s the opposite of someone else. It’s even impossible for us to get together for dinner.”
Another issue Kudrow raised with a possible movie spin-off is its plot. “What’s it going to be about? Really, how is it going to work?” the 53-year-old actress said.
“They no longer hang out at the coffee house, they have all moved away. Chandler and Monica live upstate. Phoebe and Mike probably the same. For what reason would there be for them all to come together for a significant amount of time? The setting and that time of life worked brilliantly for then.”
So a Friends movie may not be in the cards. But hey, at least we always have those reruns!
