All Friends fans always envied Monica and Rachel’s lavish New York apartment, but how much would cost to live in today?

In the hit series, Monica and Rachel paid $200 per month for their West Village apartment after inheriting it from Monica’s grandmother. According to Coinage, that same space in 2017 would cost an incredible $4,500 per month!

Not only is this a substantial increase from what Monica and Rachel paid in the ’90s, but it also does not include utilities.

The famous Friends apartment wasn’t the only New York based television show home that Coinage put a value on.

Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment in Sex in the City would run her $2,800 per month as opposed to the $750 per month rent she paid in the series. You know the two bedroom apartment Ted, Marshall, Robin and Lilly all called home in the series How I Met Your Mother? Well in 2017, that place would cost $3,000 per month.

While all of these apartments seem way too pricey for most, they have nothing on the famed van der Woodsen Upper East Side penthouse from Gossip Girl, as the real thing sold for a whopping $35 million.

Thankfully some of our favorite television characters don’t have to worry about the housing market in 2017 because if they did, they may be looking for somewhere else to call home.
